Ryan Armour was in Avondale , LA for the team play format of the Zurich Classic. For their song, Ryan and his partner, Johnson Wagner a Virginia Tech grad, have chosen ‘Enter Sandman‘. The deal was this : if your team made the 36 hole cut, your walk up song wound be played as you were announced to tee off n the first tee for Saturday and Sunday’s rounds.

The sand in the gears was that Ryan and Johnson had a two day score of even par, a good bit above the cut line (-5). Maybe the teams that missed the cut should have picked this song

Local Golf

Monday was my first round on my home course. The temperatures were comfortable, shorts, polo and sweater vest.  The playing conditions were a bit dicey – soft fairways and 20 mph winds out of the southwest.

Made a few very good swings, a few very bad swings and generally plodded along 5 miles of peat bog lugging a 30 pound bag in bogey golf. The good news is that with wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen and UVB sleeves,  I managed to ‘birdie’ my skin protection.

We’ll try it again next week.
