The Ohio State Women’s Volleyball team, last week against TTUN fell behind but managed to resurface from a 2-0 deficit, but the Buckeyes would drop a heartbreaker (25-14, 25-22, 20-25, 26-28, 15-9) to No. 13 TTUN Friday night (the 12th) inside St. John Arena. The Buckeyes fall to 11-8 overall and 2-5 in Big Ten play while TTUN finishes out with a 16-2 mark and are 5-2 in BIG.

Four Buckeyes reached double figures, led by Jordan Fry with 16 kills. Lauren Witte added 14 kills and a match-high three blocks. Vanja Bukilić also had 14 kills for her fifth straight match with 10-plus. Bia Franklin notched a career-high 12 kills and seven digs.

Adria Powell hit seven kills, along with three service aces and two blocks while Audra Appold tied her career mark with 19 digs. Becca Mauer handed out 57 assists and dug 14 balls, both career highs, for her fifth double-double this season. Camryn Moeller and Hannah Gruensfelder had eight and nine digs, respectively.
But TTUN notched the win …..(ugh!)

Sunday the 14th the Buckeyes met up with *ichigan State with its sixth sweep of the season when it took down the Spartans in straight sets (25-23, 25-19, 28-26) Sunday on ESPN2. The Buckeyes improve to 12-8 overall and 3-5 in the BIG while the Spartans drop to 15-6 overall and 3-5 in conference play.

Bia Franklin was involved in all aspects of the match – hitting a career high in kills (14) and points (18.5). She also registered 12 digs, three service aces, and two blocks. Madison Smeathers came through with a season-best 13 kills while Vanja Bukilić notched her 16th match in double figures on 10 kills. Jordan Fry and Lauren Witte added six and five kills, respectively.

Becca Mauer reached double-digits in assists for the 11th time after she handed out a match-high 43 helpers. Audra Appold recorded 11 digs, followed by Hannah Gruensfelder with eight.

The Buckeyes fell in straight sets (25-15, 25-19, 25-22) to Indiana University in Bloomington, Friday night (19th) at University Gym. The loss puts the Buckeyes at 12-9 overall and 3-6 in Big Ten action while the Hoosiers have a 13-7 record with a 4-5 mark in the conference play.

Vanja Bukilić hit .450 with a match-high 11 kills and five digs, followed by Lauren Witte with 10 kills and a .421 clip. Madison Smeathers and Jordan Fry added seven and six kills, respectively, while Becca Mauer tallied 36 assists and seven digs.
Making her third appearance at libero, Audra Appold notched 13 digs. Hannah Gruensfelder just missed out on double figures after digging nine balls.
Ohio State out-dug Indiana 48-44, but was out-blocked by a 7-2 margin.

Next up, tomorrow in Lafayette, the Buckeyes meet up with Purdue @ 1 p.m.
