The Ohio State Men’s Golf (OSUMG) team is in Columbus to host the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate. The event is played at The Scarlet Course at The Ohio State University Golf Club. It is a three round event with play scheduled for Friday, April 19th (36 holes) and Saturday, April 20th (18 holes).

Course: The Scarlet Course is set up at 7,455 yards and to a par of 71. That’s a lot of course to cover in 71 strokes. According to the scorecard the rating/slope is 76.2/138. At my course (70.2/113, 6.412 yd) I would be an 11 handicap. At The Scarlet Course, I’d be a 13. Which is irrelevant; I’d never play a course at that length.

Schedule: Shotgun at 8:15 am on Friday, with 2nd round commencing 30 minutes after completion of 1st round. Final round begins at 8:00 am from holes #1 and #10.

Format: The familiar “play 5, count 4” with teams also fielding players to participate as Individuals.

Field: This is an 14 team field, with five teams in Golfstat’s Top 50:

Augusta, Ball State, Dayton, #40 Florida, Kent State, Maryland, Miami (OH), Michigan State, Northern Illinois,  #45 Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers, Toledo, Xavier

Ohio State lineup

This is even better than I thought. Coaches Moseley and Smith decided to get all ten Buckeyes on the course in competition. Rather than compete as Individuals, they assigned them (Kevin, Grant. JonErik, Jack, Justin) as the “B” squad.

A Team

Will Grimmer
Daniel Wetterich
Caleb Ramirez
Will Voetsch
Laken Hinton

B Team

Kevin Stone
Grant Engle
JonErik Alford
Jack Mancinotti
Justin Wick
